The women were walking at Morar estuary when the tide came in and cut them off, a spokeswoman for Stornoway Coastguard said. Weather conditions were calm when the lifeboat was called to the scene at 4.22pm. The spokeswoman said: “The lifeboat crew used their smaller “Y-boat” to retrieve them and took them back to Mallaig harbour.”
