Traffic has ground to a standstill in Inverness following a two-car crash near Munlochy.
A section of the A9 Inverness to Thurso road is partially blocked in both directions as a result of the crash at the notorious B9161 Munlochy junction. crash.
The alarm was raised around 4.15pm, with both lanes partially blocked by the wreckage.
Its unknown at this time if anyone has been injured.
Motorists are being warned to expect delays as the road remains blocked between the Tore roundabout and the Longman roundabout.

Police, fire and paramedics have been drafted to the area to aid in the rescue efforts.
Two fire appliances from Inverness are also in attendance.
Traffic chaos
Despite a diversion route being put in place to try and help the city’s roads cope with the traffic, queues of traffic have built up.
The diversion uses the A832 and A862 via Beauly to direct traffic away from the Kessock Bridge.
Roads including Longman Road and Harbour Road were the sites of gridlock traffic moving into Friday evening.
The delays are so bad that Inverness Taxis has put a post out on social media advising customers that their pick-ups will be late.
