One of the north’s busiest roads will be closed overnight for nearly two weeks due to essential repairs.
The A82 Inverness-Fort William road will be closed half a mile north of Fort Augustus between Sunday, October 26 and Friday, November 7.
The road will shut at 8pm each night and will then reopen at 6am the following morning.
The trunk road will stay open throughout the nights of Friday, October 31 and Saturday, November 1.
Trunk road operators Bear Scotland will be carrying out resurfacing works, followed replacing road markings.
A diversion will be in place via the the A87 and the A887.
This will involve leaving the A82 at Invergarry and rejoining at Invermoriston, or vice versa.
It is understood that the B862 Fort Augustus-Inverness road, running on the south side of Loch Ness, will also be available as a diversion but is not recommended by Bear Scotland as it is not a trunk road.
