Calls have been made to toughen up traffic restrictions at a small hamlet close to Belladrum Estate during its annual music festival.
A resident of Megstone wants to stop people leaving their cars when they head to the annual Tartan Heart gathering.
Brian Corbett said existing parking restrictions were ignored during this year’s festival.
The tiny cluster of houses sits next to the public road used by traffic leaving the music event, near Kiltarlity.
The main campsite for festival-goers is also close by.
Cars are supposed to be prevented from accessing the hamlet by stewards, but Mr Corbett said this was not enforced.
He met festival promoter and estate owner Joe Gibbs earlier this month to discuss the issue and received a pledge that restrictions would be tighter at Megstone next year.
Retired gardener Mr Corbett also suggested creating a new private road so traffic leaving the site would not have to go anywhere near the village, but was told this would be “unworkable”.
Mr Corbett said: “Cars would come in and then they’d be left outside our houses.
“They weren’t supposed to but the security guys left them alone and let them.
“It was a bit of a nightmare to be honest.
“I’m not against the festival at all and I know that it’s just for four days, but I just think this could be better managed.
“The festival will keep getting bigger and things like this need to be looked at.”
Mr Gibbs said: “I’ve heard Mr Corbett’s concerns and I have discussed them with him in person.
“Obviously cars should not be parking at Megstone and there are stewards employed to stop that from happening.
“Clearly the stewards have not been doing their jobs as fully as they could and that will be improved for next year.”
The Tartan Heart Festival is held every August and will be extended to three days for the first time next year.
The gathering had a record breaking year in 2014 when Welsh legend Sir Tom Jones headlined the event.
