A road has been closed in the Highlands after a serious accident.
At around 9.20pm, services received reports of the accident – involving two cars – at the Ardullie Roundabout, on the Ardullie to Dingwall stretch of the A862 road.
Emergency services attended the scene and had to remove a passenger who was stuck in one of the vehicles.
Another passenger was able to leave the vehicle on their own. It is not clear yet how serious their injuries are.
As a result of this collision the A862 has been closed between the Ardullie Roundabout and Craig Road junction with Tulloch Avenue, Dingwall.
A local diversion is in place via the Old Evanton Road for small vehicles only and larger vehicles and HGVs are being diverted via the A835 Maryburgh roundabout to Tore roundabout and then the A9 Tore roundabout to Ardullie roundabout
The road will be closed until further notice whilst officers from the Road Policing Unit carry out further investigations.
