The lone motorist collided with another vehicle near the Ardullie roundabout on the A862 Dingwall-Ardullie road at 9.26pm. Firefighters had to remove the door of her vehicle to release her from the car. It is understood that she was taken to Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, but died from her injuries. Police said that her name would not be released until next of kin was informed. A 22-year-old man in the second vehicle was also taken to Raigmore. Police said that his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. The young man was also alone in the vehicle. Police have appealed for any witnesses to the crash to contact them on 101. The A862 was closed overnight and reopened this morning. Warning signs have been left at the scene because of oil on the road. Debris can also be seen on the verge.
