Vehicles which were stranded between two landslides on the A82 Fort William-Glasgow road have been escorted out of the area.
Nearly 60 people were trapped at Corrychurrachan when torrential rain brought down onto the trunk road.
Firefighters joined engineers from Bear Scotland and the Forestry Commission to clear the blockage.
However the road will remain closed overnight because of safety fears.
There is also more heavy rain forecast for the area tomorrow.
Inspector Donald Campbell said: “Firstly, I would like to thank the members of the public who were stuck between the blockages for their good spirit and patience whilst we dealt with the incident.
“The road is expected to be closed overnight as engineers will be working to assess the area.”
