The 30ft vessel, called The Lady Russell, got into difficulty at Proudfoot north of the town, just after 5am. The man onboard was uninjured and was rescued by Wick lifeboat. A spokesman of Shetland Coastguard said that the lifeboat crew was standing by on scene to try and refloat the vessel when high tide came in. However a witness said that there appeared to be a hole in the side of the boat. It is understood that the crew will try to patch this up before refloating the boat.
