Fog at the Rest and Be Thankful yesterday continued to hamper attempts to clear landslide debris.
An emergency by-pass route is still being used at the hill pass on the A83 in Argyll between Tarbet and Campbeltown.
Several thousand vehicles have used the Old Military Road diversion route since three landslides struck following heavy rain on Tuesday.
The majority of the debris has now been cleared from the A83 and all that remains are some large boulders on the hillside. They have to be secured or broken-up before the road is safe to use, but fog has blocked work at the top of the hill and the weather forecast suggests this is expected to persist until tomorrow.
The Old Military Road diversion which causes 45 minute delays, will continue to be in use at the weekend.
The diversion is more than 26 miles or 38 minutes shorter than the alternative diversion route
