Residents in Wester Ross face continued disruption after a landslide on the A890 Stromeferry Bypass.
Highland Council has said that the road will be closed overnight between 7pm and 7am until further notice.
The move follows a major landslip during torrential rain between Ardnarff and Strathcarron.
A geotechnical report confirmed further stabilisation work is needed.
Once a specialist contractor is engaged, an update on expected time-scales will be provided.
Signs have been put in place to advise motorists of the periods of closure.
Emergency services in the area will be unaffected by the road closure.
However motorists travelling overnight face a lengthy 133 miles diversion.
The route is via the A890 Strathcarron to Achnasheen; A832 Achnasheen to Garve; A835 Garve to Tore Roundabout; A9 Tore to Inverness; A82 Inverness to Invermoriston; A887 / A87 Invermoriston to Auchtertyre.
