Thousands of households across the north are being asked for their views on topics such as housing, jobs, education and local services.
Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) has commissioned the My Life survey to try and identify the challenges faced by communities and support economic growth.
A total of 13,000 households have been chosen at random to receive the survey through the post.
Stuart Black, chief executive of HIE, said the findings will help them to establish how issues such as the pandemic and climate change have directly impacted people.
‘We want to have a fuller understanding of how all of this is affecting lives’
He said: “So many aspects of our lives have been affected, and are being affected still, by things like the pandemic, the climate emergency and demographic change. This is throwing up many new challenges
“We want to have a fuller understanding of how all of this is affecting the lives, experiences and attitudes of people living, studying and working in the region.”
The study, carried out by independent research organisation Ipsos MORI, will ask each household what’s important to them living and working in their communities.
HIE is particularly keen for those aged 16-29 to have their say.
Mr Black said the findings will help them to make positive changes across the north.
“We will use the feedback to inform how we can best address these challenges and others,” he added.
“Ultimately, this will help us support economic and community growth across all parts of the Highlands and islands and we encourage people in any of the households contacted to please take part.”
