Lifeboat aids stricken boat in Sound of Mull

Oban Lifeboat has rescued a small boat which suffered engine problems in the Sound of Mull.

The lifeboat was called out at 4.40pm after the rigid inflatable boat (rib) with four people aboard contacted Stornoway Coastguard.

A coastguard spokesman said: “The rib had a broken down gearbox. The lifeboat went to the scene and towed them to Lochaline.”
