A historic pub on the shores of Loch Ness has been bought by a couple who know the inn better than most.
The Dores Inn has been snapped up Adam and Tanya Da Silva, who held their wedding reception there in 2010.
And Mrs Da Silva, who grew up in Dores, worked behind the bar as a teenager – her first job.
The pub, which sits on the north shore of Loch Ness, was put on the market in September with a market value of £750,000.
The new owners will run the bar and restaurant along with Mrs Da Silva’s brother Ross Glendenning.
The couple own a construction company which specialises in masonry repairs on ageing buildings.
They both have experience in the service industry, with Mr Da Silva having spent time as a chef on cruise ships, while Mrs Da Silva has worked and managed bars during a stay in Greece.
And while Mr Da Silva says they make “a few tweaks” to the 19th century building, the new managers are quite happy to allow business to continue as usual.
He said: “Really what is there not to love?
“I fell in love with the place the first time I saw it and obviously it has a personal connection with Tanya.
“I find all my worries drift away when I’m here, it’s very tranquil.
“It’s also the only location where you can walk right down to the loch, nowhere else has Loch Ness right on it’s doorstep in the way this has.”
The new management moved in at the end of October, with the family in the process of completing a move from Gloucestershire.
The pub was previously operated by Quintin Stevens and his wife Michelle, who had run the popular inn since 2008.
It was listed in the Lonely Planet guide earlier this year as one of 50 “undiscovered and overlooked” destinations in Europe.
