Invergordon’s RNLI lifeboat and a rescue helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth were scrambled to the Tain area shortly after 6.15pm. The male anglers were in the Morrich More area on the southern shore of the Dornoch Firth when they were caught by the tide. The men, who were uninjured, were airlifted to safety to the nearby village of Inver. Aberdeen Coastguard later stood down the lifeboat.
