Firefighters called to second Highland car fire in one day

Firefighters tackled two car fires in the Highlands yesterday.
A car went up in flames in a street in Thurso at around 8.15pm on Sunday.
North police could not confirm if they were investigating the cause of the blaze last night.
A fire and rescue spokesman said: “We got the call at 8.13pm. We had just the one appliance from Thurso. The stop message came in at 8.27pm.”
The firefighters used two hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze.
Nobody was injured during the incident.
However, another car fire which took place in the Thistle Park area of Wick at 4.25am yesterday is being investigated by police.
A police spokesman said: “Police are investigating the cause of a vehicle on fire on Thistle Park in Wick.
“Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called to attend the fire around 0425 hours on Sunday 16th November 2014. The fire was quickly brought under control and no persons were injured.
“Any persons with information relating to this incident are requested to contact the Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
