A north MP has called for a long term solution for the landslide hit Stromeferry road.
Charles Kennedy has called on the Scottish Government to step in to help fund improvements to the A980 in Wester Ross.
The road has been regularly closed by rockfalls along the shore of Loch Carron.
Highland Council are considering options for a permanent solution, including a new low-level bridge across the Strome narrows, a shared viaduct with the railway along the shore of Loch Carron and building a new road south of the loch through Gleann Udalain.
Mr Kennedy made the call after the road was closed again on October 28 after a landslide.
The road was closed overnight for several weeks for stabilisation work to be carried out.
Mr Kennedy, who represents Ross, Skye and Lochaber, said: “Once again a rockfall on the Stromferry Bypass speaks volumes. Action on Stromferry Bypass remains crucial.
“SNP Ministers in Edinburgh have still yet to face up to their responsibilities on the A890.
“The Stromeferry bypass is essential for building a stronger local economy. A fair sustainable solution for the problems the road faces is needed.”
