The layout of the proposed new £30million Oban High School is going on public display next week.
The team behind the project is keen to hear the views of the community on the major new development to replace the existing school that is seriously overcrowded.
The proposed location is within the existing school site on Soroba Road and land to the north east at existing grass pitches at Dalintart and Glencruitten.
On Tuesday people will be able to see the site outline of the new school, associated car parks, playing fields, outbuildings and bus drop-off areas.
They will also have the chance to quiz members of the project team.
The project is being progressed by Hub North Scotland on behalf of Argyll and Bute Council.
A council spokeswoman said: “The public events are part of a pre-application consultation which allows members of the public to view the initial proposals and make comments before any planning application is submitted. At the planning application stage there will be more opportunities for people to share their views.”
The Oban High School event is in the McCaig Suite, Corran Halls, Oban between 10am and 8pm on Tuesday.
The pre-application consultation is a statutory process which applicants must follow before submitting a formal planning bid for a significant development. It is in addition to the planning consultation period which follows the formal submission of a planning application.
