Scottish Hydro Electric Power Distribution (SHEPD) says that it has restored supplies to the 27,000 homes in Skye and the Western Isles. They were cut off after a lightning strike at Fort Augustus. But the company has warned that supplies could be interrupted again because of continued lightning strikes. A SHEPD spokesman said: “We aim to restore all supplies as quickly as possible when faults occur. “We would like to thank all customers who have been without electricity this morning for their patience and understanding.”
