The accident happened at the junction between the A9 Inverness to Thurso road and the A882 road to Wick. An ambulance has attended the scene to give treatment to one casualty, although a police spokeswoman said that injuries were believed to be minor. However, the junction remains blocked because at least one of the vehicles will require recovery. An HGV has also gone off the A82 Fort William to Glasgow road near Ballachulish and ended on its side. Nobody is believed to have been injured and the road is not blocked.
