A leading conservation charity has been awarded an early Christmas present which will help with their work to protect bottlenose dolphins in the Moray Firth.
The Whale and Dolphin Conservation, who run two visitor centres in Spey Bay and North Kessock, received a £20,000 cheque from Animal Friends Pet Insurance, one of the UK’s biggest pet insurance providers.
The company is donating the cash as part of its nationwide Christmas charity giveaway.
Elaine Fairfax, managing director and company founder, said: “I’m absolutely delighted that we have been able to help whale and dolphin conservation with a donation of £20,000. Animal Friends have now donated £80,000 out of our Great Christmas Giveaway total of £120,000 to help animal welfare charities across the UK this Christmas and I’m very proud to commit to the welfare of whales and dolphins to help protect them from the threats they face around the world.”
Chris Vick, director of marketing and communications at Whale and Dolphon Conservation, said: “This is a very welcome early Christmas present and we are extremely grateful to Animal Friends Pet Insurance for the kind donation they have made. Their generosity and commitment to the welfare of whales and dolphins will help us continue with vital projects and campaigns.”
