Gale force winds of up to 60mph on the west coast caused the cancellation of several ferries today.
Operator CalMac cancelled all sailings between Barra and South Uist; North Uist and Harris and the Small Isles. The ferry to Colonsay was also cancelled.
To help people unable to travel today, an additional sailing on tomorrow will depart Lochboisdale at 6am, Arrive at Castlebay at 7.30am, depart at 7.40am and arrive in Oban at 12.30pm. An additional sailing from Oban to Lochboisdale only tomorrow departs at 8.15am and will arrive at 1.25pm.
Because the MV Clansman was stormbound in Uist today, an amended timetable between Oban Coll and Tiree will operate on Saturday.
Many more routes experienced disruption to the normal timetable as a result of the weather, including: Ardnamurchan, Gigha, Harris, Iona, Islay, Lewis, Lismore and Mull.
CalMac apologised to customers for any inconvenience.
