A man was rescued by firefighters from a house fire in a Highland village this morning.
The incident happened in the Milton Park area of Aviemore at around 10.37am.
Three appliances – one each from Kingussie, Aviemore and Grantown on Spey – went to the scene.
On arrival crews were faced with a fire on the first floor of a two-storey property.
Crews located a man on the first floor and carried him out of the house to safety.
He was then placed in the care of paramedics and treated for smoke inhalation.
Firefighters extinguished the fire and used a thermal imaging camera to check for any remaining hot spots before ventilating the property.
It is understood that the fire started in a kitchen stove which blew back and also created a large amount of smoke.
Group manager for Highlands and Islands, John MacDonald, said: “Across the Highlands and Islands Scottish Fire and Rescue Service continues to respond to weather related incidents. We are assisting partner agencies in order to keep our communities safe.
“At the same time we are maintaining operational resilience and responding to life critical incidents across the north.”
