A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after plunging up to 400ft down a cliff.
In the first of two similar incidents in the north, the biker was on the Nc500 when he went off the road near the village of Inverbain and Loch Torridon.
Stornoway Coastguard was dispatched at about 1.15pm.
A coastguard spokesman said: “We got teams from Applecross Gairloch and Loch Ewe tasked to assist the Scottish Ambulance Service.
“A coastguard helicopter from Stornoway and the Scottish Air Ambulance Charity Helimed both went to sight and landed.
“It was our teams on the scene that stretchered the casualty out because they were unable to winch him. He was then taken to hospital.
“He had fallen like 300 or 400 feet, amongst trees and stuff.
“So yeah, he was a very fortunate young man.”
The 34-year-old man was taken to Raigmore Hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown.
