Snow has also caused disruption across Argyll and Lochaber this morning.
The snow gates on the A82 Inverness to Glasgow road have been closed at Glencoe because of the severe conditions.
The A83 Tarbet to Campbeltown road was closed at Clachan in Kintyre, before reopening just before 11am.
There are also delays on the A83 at Auchindrain, near Inveraray, where a lorry became stuck in the snow.
Inspector Julie McLeish of Oban Police Station said there had been a number of minor accidents on roads surrounding the town.
She said: “Most roads are passable with care. There have been a number of minor accidents and a number of vehicles stuck in the snow on the A816 Oban to Lochgilphead road, the A819 Dalmally to Inveraray road and the A83.
“Fortunately no one has been injured. The gritters are out clearing the roads.”
Argyll and Bute Council closed nine of its schools: Achahoish, Keills, Small Isles, Dervaig, Kilmartin, Ulva, Kilchrenan, Clachan and Dalmally.
The council also said that its East and West Argyll and Mull Mobile Library services would not be running as a result of the snow.
