Huge sea swells and high winds caused major disruption to ferry services.
The Oban to Coll and Tiree ferry was cancelled today due to the adverse weather, with an additional sailing to take place tomorrow.
The Mallaig to Lochboisdale, South Uist, ferry was also cancelled.
Many more of CalMac’s routes are on amber alert, warning customers that they are liable to disruption or delay.
These include Tobermory to Kilchoan; Barra-Eriskay; Uig-Tarbert; Uig-Lochmaddy.
Other routes facing disruption included Oban-Castlebay and Oban-Lochboisdale; Gigha, Iona, Islay, Lewis, Lismore, Mull, North Uist, Skye and the Small Isles.
A spokesman for Calmac said: “We apologise for any inconvenience.”
