A Highland politician has pledged his commitment to Holocaust Memorial Day by signing the Holocaust Educational Trust’s Book of Commitment.
The event on Tuesday January 27 – the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration and death camp Auschwitz-Birkenau – will honour those who were slaughtered during the Holocaust and pay tribute to the survivors who work tirelessly to educate young people.
After signing the book, Ross, Skye and Lochaber MP Charles Kennedy encouraged all his constituents to mark the day.
He said: “This is an important opportunity to remember the victims and survivors of the Holocaust and to make sure they are not forgotten.”
