Three of the four soldiers injured in a car accident near Fort George on Monday morning have been released from hospital.
A fourth remains in Raigmore Hospital after suffering injuries which are “serious but not thought to be life threatening”.
The group of four Black Watch soldiers were on foot on the B9006 between their barracks at Fort George and Ardersier when they were hit by a car driven by one of their own colleagues on Monday morning.
The soldiers are all members of the Black Watch 3rd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland. It is understood they were running as a group when the accident happened.
Yesterday a Military of Defence spokesman confirmed that three of the soldiers had been released from hospital after receiving treatment, but that the fourth had been held at Raigmore.
A police spokesman said that an investigation into the incident was ongoing.
The solider who is still in hospital was flown to Inverness by air ambulance. The other three were all taken by road.
Police have confirmed that the car driver was an army employee and that he was not hurt in the collision.
