Argyll beauty spot Kilchurn Castle at Loch Awe is in line for a new car park and viewpoint as part of a community venture.
Dalmally Community Company has applied to the National Forest Land Scheme (NFLS) to purchase approximately 1.7 acres at Kinachreachan on the side of Loch Awe.
Administered by Forestry Commission Scotland, the NFLS gives communities the opportunity to buy or lease national forest land on the basis that it provides increased public benefits.
The community company’s proposal is to establish a car park and viewpoint to replace the current arrangement which is considered to be potentially dangerous.
A 28-day open consultation period is required by the scheme and public comments on any aspect of the proposal are welcome.
