A three-year-old boy told police he had been sexually abused by a nursery manager.
A taped interview with the child was played at the High Court in Glasgow yesterday at the trial of Mark Maclennan, who denies raping the youngster at a nursery in Inverness-shire.
The offence is alleged to have happened between August 1, 2012 and May 23, 2013.
Maclennan, 30, of Bath, England, also denies sexually abusing another three-year-old boy and a girl aged between four and five at the nursery.
In the video recording the young alleged rape victim was quizzed about the incident and said: “Don’t like Mark.”
During an interview with Constable Lyne Baptie, the child described Maclennan abusing him.
The jury was also shown a video of the boy giving evidence in an informal court setting more than a year later.
In this, he said he could not remember having gone to the nursery.
Another tape of a young girl being interviewed by police was also played to the jury of nine women and six men.
The girl, who attended the nursery when she was aged between four and five, was asked what Maclennan did with her and she said “tickle me” and pointed to between her legs.
She was asked if she had her clothes on or off when this happened and replied: “Clothes on.”
Later, at an informal court hearing to give evidence months later, the girl could not remember having a male nursery teacher.
The jury was told that Constable Baptie interviewed Maclennan after speaking to each child.
He denied the allegation in relation to the boy and did not answer any questions put to him about the girl.
Maclennan also faces charges of sexually abusing a girl between the age of 12 and 15 and having indecent photographs of children in his possession.
He denies all the charges against him.
The trial, before judge John Morris QC, continues.
