A motorist was trapped in the wreckage of his car when it overturned and landed on another car on an untreated minor road in Lochaber today.
A police spokesman said no one had been hurt in the accident that happened on Ashburn Lane in Fort William at around 12.20pm.
He said: “One car, in which there were two female occupants, was travelling from the A82 towards Grange Road.
“It was stationary when it was struck by another car travelling in the opposite direction, which ended up on its roof.”
Emergency services were called to the crash on Ashburn Lane in Fort William earlier this afternoon
He said the man, who had been driving the overturned car, required assistance from firefighters to get out of the vehicle, but the two women were able to get out of their car without assistance.
A fire and rescue service spokesman said two appliances from Fort William attended and crews were involved in stabilising the vehicles so that the trapped man could be freed.
He said all casualties were out of the vehicles at around 12.40pm.
