A new rector has been appointed at a Sutherland secondary school.
Tina Stones, who has been acting rector at Dornoch Academy since October last year, took on the role permanently on Thursday.
She was formerly the depute head at Culloden Academy for 10 years, and has previously taught in schools in England and Japan.
Miss Stones said: “I am absolutely delighted to take up the rector’s post at Dornoch Academy, having thoroughly enjoyed my period as acting rector. I look forward to continue working with the parent council, pupils, staff and wider community for many years to come.”
Dr Neil Simco, chairman of Dornoch Academy parent council, welcomed the news, and said: “She will bring energy, enthusiasm, expertise, experience and commitment to the post and is very well placed to build on all that her predecessor, John Garvie, achieved. I look forward to working with her closely in the years to come.”
