A man has been rescued from a fishing vessel north of Yell and Unst.
Coastguards received the call at around 7.50pm on Tuesday reporting an injured person on board a fishing vessel near Shetland.
The Rescue 900 helicopter was sent to attempt to rescue the injured man shortly after. However, due to the weather conditions, they had to return to Sumburgh.
Mid Yell and Baltasound coastguard teams were then dispatched to the vessel which had multiple people on board.
With the help of a local ferry, teams transported the injured man to Yell who was placed on board the waiting Rescue 900 around midnight.
The casualty was then taken to Lerwick and transferred to Lerwick coastguard team before being passed to the Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS).
