The Skye triangle ferry has been given the all-clear today after reports of an issue with the boat’s steering system.
Divers were called in to check for issues with CalMac’s MV Hebrides amid concern.
CalMac has now confirmed that following discussions with the manufacturer, services will return.
The Skye triangle runs between Uig on Skye to Tarbert, Harris and Lochmaddy in the Uists.
The other service to the Western Isles, the Ullapool to Stornaway route, has also experienced issues with its freight service recently.

CalMac’s decision to sail has been welcomed by islanders after the boat had several issues with reliability over the summer.
MV Hebrides has served Harris since it was built in 2000 by Ferguson Marine, the same shipyard that is now the centre of the Scottish ferries scandal.
Two ships are currently still uncompleted at the now government-owned shipyard, five years late and £150 million over budget.
