Speed restrictions have been imposed on the West Highland Line today due to the weather.
Network Rail workers have been stationed along the Glasgow to Mallaig railway line to carry out inspections as forecasters predict another spell of severe weather.
Met Office forecasters predict that wind speeds in Mallaig will reach highs of 26mph today, with Oban set to experience similar conditions.
Officials have confirmed that it is safe for trains to run.
However, ScotRail officials are warning commuters to expect disruption in the hours ahead.
The transport operator has reduced track speeds along the west coastline in the wake of the weather conditions, resulting in delays to scheduled services.
Due to forecasted severe weather, we need to run services between Glasgow Queen St, Oban/Fort William, and Mallaig at a reduced speed on these routes.

In a statement, published on their website, ScotRail wrote: “Because of forecasted severe weather we need to run services between Glasgow Queen St, Oban, Fort William and Malliag at a reduced speed on these routes. Delays can be expected.
“Our staff are monitoring the situation and will be on-site to inspect the track in daylight hours.”
What services are being affected?
Services operating between Glasgow Queen Street and Oban and Glasgow Queen Street and Mallaig.
Trains running between Glasgow Queen Street and Oban are expected to be delayed by up to 50 minutes and services to Mallaig for up to an hour.
The disruption is expected to last until the end of the day.
