A Highland charity is dreaming of a green Christmas as they unveil plans to gift donations from their warehouse.
Highland Hospice is preparing for the grand opening of their Santa’s grotto at Eastgate Shopping Centre later this month.
In an effort to reduce waste over the festive season, the charity is pledging to gift visitors’ items previously donated to their warehouse.
Volunteers will choose a series of high-quality objects from their bank of donations for distribution to local families through the annual attraction.
All proceeds generated from the grotto will go to the Highland Hospice.
Head elf Jenna Hayden said: “We are so excited to be back again this year, bringing joy to the hundreds of children who walk through our door.
“This could not be achieved without the incredible support of Eastgate who have provided the grotto and chosen Highland Hospice as the benefitting charity to run it.
“Highland Hospice is lucky to receive such high-quality donations, some of which are brand new with tags or as good as new.
“So, Santa and I decided that we would go green this Christmas and provide our visitors with presents from our warehouse all of which have been hand-picked by Santa and his elves.”
Santa’s Grotto will open on November 27 from 1pm until 5pm and then every Friday to Sunday until December 23.
Entry costs £10 for one child, which includes a present from Santa. Each additional child on the day costs £5.
Ms Hayden added: “We are so grateful for working in partnership with Eastgate Centre to provide a magical grotto experience, and look forward to experiencing the combined buzz of Christmas shoppers and Santa’s little visitors.
Bookings can be made online.
