Thousands across the north gathered today for poignant ceremonies to remember war heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
Bright red poppy wreaths coloured monuments across the Highlands and Moray, as people paid their respects to those who died in battle during First and Second World War and other conflicts.
For the first time since the pandemic, communities had the opportunity to join a variety of Remembrance Sunday events and witness the traditional military parades.
Inverness
Inverness Legion hosted a day of remembrance on the banks of the River Ness on Sunday afternoon.
Veterans marched from Huntly Street to the Inverness War Memorial at Cavell Gardens, where poppy wreaths were laid in a service of reflection.
Nairn
This year was especially significant for Nairn Legion as it marks the 100th anniversary of the Nairn War Memorial being erected.
Serving personnel, community groups and veterans joined the morning celebrations outside the Legion club on Cawdor Street before a parade set off to the war memorial.
A remembrance service later took place at St Ninians Kirk, where the Nairn Royal British were joined by the local regiment 4 Scots to mark the occasion.
Elgin
Dozens gathered in Elgin to also commemorate war heroes, with a parade weaving its way from North College Street up to St Giles Church.
A service was also held at the church before veterans laid wreaths at the war memorial.
