It’s that time of the week again for a round-up of planning news across the Highlands.
Officials have approved plans for 10 outdoor classrooms at a Fort William learning centre. They’re also OK with new holiday lets on a Sutherland estate.
Permission is sought for an extension to the Scottish Vets Referrals building at the UHI Inverness Campus.
Submitted: More help for animals
The existing facility, which provides specialist ophthalmic and orthopaedic
veterinary services referred from general practice, was built in 2015.
Now bosses want to build a single-storey extension to the existing building to provide additional capacity complete with a screen fence to site and increase car parking space.
Meanwhile, Scottish Vet Referrals will also be in talks with site owners Highland and Islands Enterprise (HIE). They want to acquire additional land to expand the car park to provide 25 spaces and two further disabled bays.
Approved: Cambusavie holiday lets
Farm buildings will be demolished to make way for four-holiday lets on a Sutherland estate.
Cambusavie Estate had lodged the plans.
According to the Dornoch visitor management plan, accommodation in nearby Dornoch appeared to be at capacity last year, particularly in July and August.
Bosses are hoping to provide more accommodation for the visitors to the area.
Since June, the current holiday lets on the estate they have already welcomed more than 35 guests, who were visiting the area for leisure and golf at the Royal Dornoch Golf Course.
Approved: Outdoor classrooms
They will be erected at Loch Eil Outward Bound Centre.
Each classroom will accommodate 15 students.
Since 1977, Outward Bound Loch Eil has been a recognised learning environment.
The trust promotes the importance of outdoor learning.
