Image: Police Scotland. A body has been found in the search for missing Lerwick woman Sharon O’Neill. Ms O’Neill was last seen at around 7pm on November 13, near the Northlink Ferry Terminal. Coastguard crews from Lerwick and Sumburgh carried out searches over the last 48 hours, while locals were asked to search their outbuildings. Police have now confirmed a body was been found on a stretch of shoreline close to Lerwick at around 1.50pm today. Although formal identification is yet to take place, Ms O’Neill’s family have been informed. There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances. A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
