The latest Co-op food store will open in Muir of Ord in Easter Ross tomorrow, which will support 15 local jobs.
In August, the firm’s previous shop in the village closed as part of a £2 million upgrade, which has now been completed.
Muir of Ord’s new Co-op was built on the grounds of its former store on Great North Road, but it is now 750sqft larger.
The store will be open daily from 7am-10pm and alongside errands, it includes customer car parking, a free ATM, a fairtrade coffee dispenser and a bakery.
‘Store has a great look and feel’
Martin Brant, Co-op’s store manager, said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to launch Co-op’s newest store.
“As well as being there to serve the community conveniently, we have an increased and enhanced range and choice to provide meal ideas for the evening and, week ahead.
“The store has a great look and feel, and our aim is to operate at the heart of local life – we have worked to develop the range, choice, products and added services to create a really compelling offer to serve the community.”
Those who claim a Co-op membership will get in-store store offers and exclusive deals.
Members are rewarded 2p in every pound they spend on Co-op branded products which is added to their own personal membership account balance.
The Co-op uses the money generated from memberships to donate to local charities and community organisations.
Meanwhile, students who are Totum cardholders or those who have a YoungScot card can receive a 10% discount off their groceries at the Co-op.
