One man was taken to hospital following a crash on the A96 at Brodie.
A section of the Aberdeen to Inverness road was closed in both directions due to a two vehicle crash on Thursday afternoon.
Four fire appliances attended at the scene of the crash after being alerted to the accident at 3.15pm.
The man was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness but the extent of his injuries are unknown. Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.
A police spokeswoman said: “At around 3.05pm on Thursday, November 17, 2022, officers were called to a two vehicle crash on the A96 near Forres.”
They later added: “One man was taken to Raigmore Hospital and inquiries are ongoing.”
It is understood an air ambulance was also called to the scene.
A local diversion was in place during the road closure and there were delays to the Stagecoach Bluebird service 10 this evening as a result.
The road reopened at around 9.30pm after being closed for around six hours.
Moray MSP Richard Lochhead held talks in Brodie in September, after a number of accidents or near misses on the A96 and in July, three people had to be taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness after a two-car crash on the road.
Commenting on today’s crash, Mr Lochhead said: “I was really concerned to hear that there had been another road traffic accident at Brodie and my thoughts are with anyone affected.
“We won’t know the cause of the accident until police and the authorities have completed their investigations and it is only right they are given the time to do so.”
