A woman has been taken to hospital after she had to be cut free by fire crews following a two car crash near Tain.
The incident happened at around 4.30pm on Thursday, November 17, when two cars collided on the A9 Inverness to Wick road near its junction with the B9166.
Fire crews were called to assist police at 4.52pm with two appliances coming from Tain and Invergordon.
Crews had to use cutting equipment to cut the roof off one a car in order to free a female passenger who was taken into the care of the Scottish Ambulance service.
Police confirmed that woman has been taken to hospital.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We were made aware of a crash involving two cars on the A9 near the junction with the B9166 around 4pm on Thursday, 17 November.
“One person has been taken to hospital and the road has since been fully cleared.”
