It’s that time of the week again for a round-up of planning news across the Highlands.
Officials have approved new signage for a cafe and gift shop near Tongue, a greenhouse will be demolished in Fortrose and permission is being sought for self-catering holiday accommodation near Fort William.
Submitted: Pods near Fort William farm
At Dalaraban, Lundavra road in Fort William, accommodation pods are being proposed.
Christopher Cameron has submitted the planning application.
The three pods will be used for self-catering holiday lets.
The pods would provide an income stream to the applicants.
It is hoped the small and mobile pods will offer a unique accommodation opportunity in a sustainable manner and help satisfy local demand.
The applicant’s intentions are to develop one pod in the first phase with the other two after the site is established.
See below floor plans for the pods:
Approved: Fortrose greenhouse to be demolished
Proposals to demolish a greenhouse will go ahead.
It is taking place near a property at 10 Canonbury Terrace, Fortrose.
Work will take place as the structure was deemed both unsafe for use and beyond economic repair.
The application was lodged by Stephen Rhodes.
Approved: Signage for crafts and cafe
New signs have been approved at the Weavers Crafts and Cafe, Woodend in Rhitongue, just north of Tongue itself.
Knight & McDonald Architects represented MMRC Limited in the application.
It is a small family-run cafe and gift shop.
This place provides a large selection of bakery options including homemade scones.
Meanwhile, their gift shop offers local handmade jewellery and artwork.
