Damage to Muirtown Primary School in Inverness forces second day of closure

Muirtown Primary School in Inverness is closed to pupils today following damage to the school’s gym hall.

Highland Council confirmed this morning that both the primary school and nursery have been shut after water damage to the King Brude road campus was reported.

A total of 205 pupils and 40 nursery pupils are being affected by the closure.

Highland Council officials have confirmed the school is scheduled to reopen on Monday.

However, the gym hall will remain closed.

It is the second day this week that the school has been closed.
