Two fire appliances from Fort William went to the scene at a BP filling station near to Ben Nevis distillery at about 3.45pm. It is understood that the animal got trapped when it tried to jump out of the trailer when the owner went to fill up their car. A local vet was called to the scene and sedated the horse to allow the firefighters to cut the pony free after about an hour. The animal has been moved into a nearby field until it recovers from the sedation.
