A woman had a lucky escape earlier tonight after her car veered into a Highland river.
The incident happened at around 8.40pm on the A82 Drumnadrochit to Fort Augustus road, at Alltsigh, close to Invermoriston.
The woman lost control of the car and it veered into the River Moriston.
Emergency services – including two fire engines from Drumnadrochit and Fort Augustus, as well as a water rescue team from Inverness – were called to the scene.
By that point, however, the woman had managed to free herself from the vehicle and get back onto the road.
There were no injuries as a result of the accident.
