The accident happened around a mile north of Kingussie at around 6.10am. The victim, understood to be the driver of one of the lorries, died at the scene. A second man, believed to be the driver of the second lorry, was taken to Raigmore Hospital. A police spokesman said that his injuries were not thought to be serious. No one else was injured. The spokesman said that inquiries are continuing and officers are still examining the scene. A significant amount of debris from the two lorries was strewn across the road by the collision. The A9 is closed and is expected to remain that way for some time. Diversions are in place via the B9152 between Aviemore and Kingussie.
