Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team had a long night after receiving a report of a walker lost on the plateau on Tuesday evening. Team members battled heavy snow showers and managed to locate the missing man in the early hours of the morning. He was walked out of the hills to safety at about 5am. Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team were also called to help recover a climber who had fallen on the Italian Climb on Ben Nevis. The climber was lowered around 390ft to where he was collected by RAF Lossiemouth helicopter Rescue 137. The casualty was taken to Belford Hospital where he is believed to have suffered a broken ankle.
