Highland Hospice is set to benefit from two special fundraising events next month.
Owners of Kia Picanto cars can take part in a drive across the Highlands in aid of the charity’s Project Build, which aims to find £4.5 million to rebuild the hospice.
The Picanto Parade will run from Inverness to Ullapool on May 9 and organisers are asking for donations of £10 per car.
In keeping with the eccentric nature of the event, a quiz sheet will be provided for passengers along with suggestions about interesting places to stop and visit along the way. Chocolates will also be handed out at the end of the trip.
Paraders should assemble at the old B&Q car park near the Kia dealership in the city’s Carsegate at 10.30am, and everyone should aim to meet at the ferry car park in Ullapool at 1pm.
Highland Hospice will also benefit from proceeds raised at a concert next month.
The Highland choral group Musick Fyne are celebrating 35 years of performances throughout Scotland with an event on May 1 inside the historic Barn Church in Culloden.
A Peruvian band will join the 24 singers on this occasion for a musical feast which will include renditions of work by Monteverdi, Bach and Handel.
Admission programmes at £10 go on sale on May 1st at the venue door from 7.30pm and all proceeds will go to Highland Hospice.
