A pet snake has put residents in a far north flat block in a state of fear.
It is understood that the corn snake belonged to a former tenant at Fergus Court, but she lost the unusual pet two months ago before moving out of the town.
The missing reptile was spotted under the floor of the flat by council staff who were working on the property last week.
The North American black and yellow corn snake is about 3ft in length, although the species can grow to 6ft.
They are not poisonous, although they can bite if they feel threatened.
Highland Council and the Scottish SPCA are monitoring the block of flats, and traps have now been laid in an attempt to recapture the snake.
