Major fire at historic Lochaber hotel

Firefighters are tackling a major fire at a hotel in Lochaber this afternoon.

Four appliances are on scene at the Spean Bridge Hotel after a blaze broke out at around 3.30pm.

A spokesman for the fire service said that the fire was in the roof space of the building.

Police have said that no one was in the building at the time.

The hotel, which is beside the main A82 Fort William-Inverness road, was originally a coaching inn dating back to the 17th century.
